Hi,

Have recently decided to make the jump from my i5-6600k to a Ryzen 3700x. Wondering what mobo/chipset to pair it with...

I'm thinking of B550:

but wondering if there are any quality of life changes that would make x570 worthwhile, or indeed if i can go for a B450 like the MSI tomahawk?

Requirements are:
- ATX
- 2 PWM fan headers minimum
- Software for fan management including zero speed
- M2 slot
- front USB-C 3.1 port connector*
- 4 SATA ports
- PCI-E 4.0 x 16 for single gpu (5700xt)*
- Some ok (not amazing) overclocking capability

i've added a * to some things that are "nice to have" rather than essential

Not needed:
- Wifi
- RGB

Budget: <£150 (though could stretch to £200 if it's an amazing jump in quality)

Thanks in advance

The diffrence between b450 and b550 is pcie4 which maybe more beneficial in the future. For most people a b550 motherboard would do over a x570 unless you want the extra pcie4 lanes on the x570.

X570 usually have more ports ,etc.
