Motivation

I could die at any moment. And I currently only have one life in stock at the moment.

If that's not motivation enough for people, I don't know what is!

Do u wanna become fat, useless, have a dead end job, a flat or house like u see on tv programmes where there skank, be unhappy, ill health and wish u had a different life or some one elses or ud done things differently?

My motivations lye in that i do not ever want to end up like this, my happiness takes 1st place to everything and if im happy then i am succeeding with the life i want to live

How do I motivate you not to use shorthand?

Set yourself life goals, where would you like to be in 5 years? Identify it and plan how your going to get there. You dont have to tell anyone your goals but it may help to motivate you if you know you will disapoint if you do not succeed.

i have real problems with motivating myself to do what i SHOULD be doing... Instead i just do stuff that i wanna do! doesnt always work out so well in the long run though.

i guess to motivate yourself, you obviously first need to set some goals.. then some steps to achieve said goal. complete each step and reward yourself with something you like doing after each one. Saaay like.. chocolate, shopping, sports.. whatever your into really!

requires a lot of willpower though! hehe :)

Good Luck!.. now.. to motivate myself!

Ive had a few motivational issues. As others have said a goal/target is essential. Another thing i find exceptionally helpful is a good sleep pattern.

Eat well, exercise and develop yourself.

Look at books like this: http://www.amazon.co.uk/Mastering-Y...1_fkmr1_1?ie=UTF8&qid=1263726907&sr=8-1-fkmr1

They can help a great deal with 'confidence' and learning about yourself.

Write your goals down also. Someone once told me 95% of people don't write down their goals. I am betting a similar number also never reach their goals. Drill them into your subconcious.

But I guess part of me also thinks some men are just born with passion and some aren't. Looking around at most people I know I think they fit into the latter....

I find it hard to get up in the morning. So what I do is I hide my alarm somewhere in my room, so it forces me to get up. Of course, after the first few times I just turned it off and went back to bed :(

Since then I've said to myself "If you don't get up on the count of 3, your whole family will die" It works every time, I've never failed to get up using that. Of course, it relies on being awake in the first place.

It was slightly off topic, as it is very short term motivation.

If you have something that you want to do just do it. Lifes too short. Even if mistakes are made who cares.

I used to think that life was too short, I almost became depressed about this. Then one day I opened my eyes. Even if the average lifetime was 200 years, people would say that it's short, simply because it must come to an end. Life isn't short, it's the longest thing you will ever do. EVER.

You are taking it too literally. Life isn't considered short because we think 70-80 years is a short time, not that it is that long either. But people think life is short because it can a. end at any moment and b. time has a habbit of flying by.

It can be very easy to waste your life without doing anything interesting or challenging.

Yeah my point was about time flying by. When I was around 6, if I had to wait a year for something it would take ages. Now a year seems to go much quicker. But there are still 60 seconds in a minute, that hasn't changed, and the length of a second hasn't changed either. Time only seems to fly by, because time must continue. eg: if somebody thinks, "damn, I'm 40 already, that was quick". It wasn't necessarily quick, but only because at some point that person was destined to be 40, and wasn't prepared for the hit.

I have real motivation problems set on in the last 5 years. I got my degree, had a decent job, jacked it to be a teacher, now thinking teaching is not for me.

I can't get motivated to do any of the teaching work, but it maybe my noly shot to get to New Zealand.

Atm, I just feel I'm 26 and waiting to die already...

Don't teach.
