I was doing some overhead MIG welding today and this evening noticed I had carelessly allowed weld splatter to get on the screen of the phone in my top overall pocket. There are a few tiny craters and 3 or 4 tiny cracks in the screen, only noticeable if you look for them. Is this damned thing likely to suffer a totally failed screen soon? I see new screens available and I feel confident I could probably change it myself given the purchase of the tiny Torx screwdriver needed for the case screws, but a mint used one is not much more. Should I leave it and hope, or is this impending disaster pleaae?

Secondly, I see "cloning" software to shift everything on this phone to another Android one, does this sort of thing work OK and what would people recommend me to use if I change the phone? I am a Luddite and quite happy with something that's not the latest and greatest, so another G4 Plus, which I am comfortable with now, would do me fine if I decide not to change the screen itself. Thanks.

The huawei cloning software I have tried worked great and fast too
My old moto g4 to new p30 lite
Did an iPhone too
Though not everything transferred on that
But contacts, photos, texts did which was main thing

Thanks, sounds like a good idea to have a back up of data although 99% of usage is just normal calls, very few photos or stored numbers. Thank you Mcnumpty2323
