I was doing some overhead MIG welding today and this evening noticed I had carelessly allowed weld splatter to get on the screen of the phone in my top overall pocket. There are a few tiny craters and 3 or 4 tiny cracks in the screen, only noticeable if you look for them. Is this damned thing likely to suffer a totally failed screen soon? I see new screens available and I feel confident I could probably change it myself given the purchase of the tiny Torx screwdriver needed for the case screws, but a mint used one is not much more. Should I leave it and hope, or is this impending disaster pleaae?
Secondly, I see "cloning" software to shift everything on this phone to another Android one, does this sort of thing work OK and what would people recommend me to use if I change the phone? I am a Luddite and quite happy with something that's not the latest and greatest, so another G4 Plus, which I am comfortable with now, would do me fine if I decide not to change the screen itself. Thanks.
