dont know a lot about interest in moto gp on here but Rossi 7 time world gp title winner is possibly going to ferrari next year 2007

in testing with other drivers for first time he was just over 1 second of Schui and faster than regular F1 drivers Mark Webber, David Coulthard & Jarno Trulli

wonder if Surtees will see him coming ?

good luck to him, sad loss to motogp if it does happen

I have been watching a bit of the A1 recently and it is more entertaining than F1 but I just do not recognise any of the drivers.

Also, I am not sure what sort of money is in A1 compared to F1?

I imagine Rossi is a great car driver, all bikers seem to have a little more awareness and idea of the road conditions.

01st Wednesday's testing times from Valencia:
1. ALONSO _ Renault _ 1m11.291s _ '06 chassis / V8 engine(?)
3. M.SCHUMACHER _ Ferrari _ 1m11.831s _ '06 chassis / V8 engine
9. ROSSI _ Ferrari _ 1m12.856s _ '04 chassis / V8 engine

26th Thursday's testing times from Barcelona:
1. MASSA _ Ferrari _ 1m15.970s _ '04 chassis / V8 engine
2. BARRICHELLO _ Honda _ 1m16.361s _ '06 chassis / V8 engine
8. M.SCHUMACHER _ Ferrari _ 1m16.907s '06 chassis / V8 engine

25th Wednesday testing times from Barcelona:
1. MASSA _ Ferrari _ 1m15.679s _ '04 chassis / V8 engine
2. ALONSO _ Renault _ 1m16.200s _ '06 chassis / V8 engine

While taking absolutely nothing away from Rossi who has done fantastic to get to test with the big boys, fact is its quite un-suprisingly over-hyped.
Massa, in the same car as Rossi, has topped the table by over 0.5secs & 1.0secs over Schui, who has been using the '06 package.

Which after a quick calculation means Rossi is currently 2.0secs off Massa's pace BUT that's calculated using two different tracks data. Still, a large amount of time which I'm sure he can improve upon.

Make no doubt, once he adjusts to high-speed cornering & changes of conditions he can race in F1, only I highly doubt it will be at the front, unless he is given a very very good car.

It will be a sad day for motorsport if Rossi decides to join the F1 circus. I used to consider myself a real fan of F1 but I have found the rule changes and the to'ing and fro'ing too much to take. It has (for me anyway become an unbearable sport to watch). Motogp on the other hand has some real lively characters gracing their sport and on so many levels it is a far more entertaining spectacle to watch.

Well the times are good for someone with very little experiance in car racing

However isnt he in the 2004-M spec ferrari with an un restricted V10

Compared to most otheres in 2006 cars with V8's

EDIT :Oh no wait Both Massa and Rossi in 2004's with Massa a V8 and Rossi a restricted V10 so the times are relatively comparitive (forgetting about different strategies tires and aims)

They both are running '04 chassis & V8 engines.
No Ferrari is running a restriced V10 due to completing much of the V8 development after writing off the season early on last year.
Ferrari only have one '06 spec chassis, a second isn't due for another Month

Rossi is running the rev and air restricted V10.

He hasn't run with the V8 yet.

And I'm still not overly impressed with him.

MotoGP is the best sport in the world... he would be better off staying but considering hes only had 3 or 4 outings in a 2004 car and hes already that quick... Ferrari would probably eat his arm off if hes 50% interested!
