Hello all,

I've booked my bike test over for a 4 day intensive course over 2 weekends in september! :D

Right, I'm 19, don't have the best record in the world (as some of you may know :p)

Where would people recommend for insuring a 600cc bike? :)

thanks, going to do some googling! :D

I used Europa (which includes Endsleigh, Motorcycle Direct etc).

I also used gocompare (like confused.com) but includes bikes, and it was pretty good. Checked most of the decent insurance companies.

A lot of people use Bennets, Carole Nash or Bike Insure.

No point restricting a big 600 imo. May as well buy a BROS 400 or similar (doesn't need restricting) or a VFR400, they're both good bikes and you won't be 'wasting' them. Then when your restriction's up get whatever you want.

Try Express Insurance if its a suzuki and also try motorcycledirect.co.uk both motorcycle direct and bennetts gave my best insurance for bikes around 600cc when i was 17-19

I am with Norwich union, through carole nash. Carole nash are an excellent insurer to deal with. They were very helpful with my accident back in january.

Just go for the 600cc bike. It all depends what your riding style and uses for the bike are though. I wanted comfort but decent power so i have had two 600cc Yamaha fazers now and they are excellent bikes even restricted.

I did a bunch of quotes online, all were anything from £1,000 to £1,400 for my bike (Kawasaki Ninja ZX636), but calling Express Insurance got it down to £890 (FC btw).

Scort.

Ouch mine was £280 fully comp this year.. being a 30year old fart has it's benefits I guess :)

I used to use a broker called Rampdale who were very good with quotes and claims.

Nice yea same here there quotes i get for the gixxer 750, call up express and theyre like "£650 fully comp and cover for any other bike TP only" im like :D :D :D

I'm with eBike insurance. When I was looking for other quotes, they were exceedingly cheap compared to the competitors.

This year I'm paying £142 for my gsxr600. :p

Another tip. Get yourself on a Police Bike Aware course. It lowered my insurance a fair bit. :)
