Motorcycle Daytime Running lights

I'm considering some daytime running lights when I get on two wheels in the next few weeks.

One of my instructors has them fitted on the front of his bike and they seem to be quite a good idea. Making you much more visable. I know from driving on the roads that daytime running lights grab your attention more so than dipped beam headlamps.

Either:

and a 'modulator' to make them glint/glisen to stand out even more

Does anybody have any on their bike? I'd be interested to hear peoples thoughts on them.

I don't think they look tacky or chavvy and may well end up saving you from unpleasant situations more times than you'll ever know. Easy to fit too by splicing them on to the sidelight wiring and securing the LED's where neccesary.

I'd probably mount them either on the front fairing or just underneath it above the front wheel, but far enough forward that they can be seen from the side too rather than just directly ahead.

They're not massively expensive, so yeah. Answers on a postcard :)

Thanks,

BennyC

Isn't that Flukester's website? He might be able to shed some light on the subject (see what I did there?)

Doesn't your bike have the lights on all the time anyway? My SV has sidelights and dipped beams on all the time and they're probably a lot more noticable than small LEDs I'd say

Hey :), yeah tis mine... I'm not sure I should really reply as have vested interest, but the Bullet lights are pretty good though as so small can struggle to cut through bright daylight. They are great in gloomy conditions though.

I run with BV Cree LED lights, you'll never be missed, though they are a good deal larger. If you can create a triangle with your main light it gives a good impression of your speed to others on the road... also gives your bike width. (traffic tends to part for you when you filter)

Yeah the dipped beam will be on the ignition as will sidelights. For me I've always found that DRL's always catch my attention. Most likely even more so if fitted with a modulator.

Oh I see you linked to the mini pods, they are good even in bright daylight and with the modulator they really get you noticed.
