Motors YouTube Videos

I am confused about the Drive/Smoking 'Tire' videos, I'd assumed that all the Smoking tire stuff would now solely be on the Drive channel (one of the few good bits it has)
Seemingly not though which is how I've missed this:

A note on the video, he moans about the strut brace in it flexing too much, but if it flexes that much is it really a strut brace? And if it is a brace, is it designed only to work under tension then not compression as he demonstrates, but not really sure that'd work out either?

I used to be able to do youtube embedding...

I think I remember him saying when he joined drive that he was keeping the smoking tire channel so he could still do his own thing. Fixed link for you lol. ;) :D

i highly highly doubt a strut brace would make or break the car handling of a car

Yeah but being that wobbly, what is it?
Jay Leno got the 'real' Polestar C30 (450BHP 4WD!) and the strut brace on that looked a bit thicker. Is it possible in the mild one they didn't want it to be completely fixed, but still weird, no?

but if you think about the forces it has to work against, i have a feeling the main stresses are the towers either moving either together or apart

i found this video that i had not seen for a long time

there are lateral movements but the brace does come off the piece of paper

Was my line of thinking with the tension/compression business, but it was late when I posted.

I like Matt Farah (a bit) but of course glosses over a lot of things in those style of reviews. Will see what else is out there on the C30 (it's a pet love of mine since wanting a 480 since like forever!)

Quick google says it's for noise reduction purposes?

Great Video if you've seen any of Kyle's videos (if you're not sure who Kyle is, you'll probably guess when you hear his voice lol)
