Topical video considering it's TT week

Interesting moment early on in the video getting the Scooby sideways down Bray Hill

Apols if this has been posted before, I tried searching but it didn't come up.

He was still 13mph average quicker though, on street legal tyres (the rover used slicks) and with a passenger. So it is pretty impressive.

Must have been entertaining for the spectators watching either of those runs - when I went over for the TT they would have a couple of course cars going round the lap before the racing started and you could hear the tyres howling through the corners. Friend of mine got a passenger ride in one too.

The passenger was for the video not for the record attempt. The Subaru is also using race tires as well being stripped and caged. Also with the benefit of 4WD with at least an extra 50% more power as well. Lastly not to mention the Subaru is a rally car for the road.

Tony Ponds record attempt is the equivalent of doing the TT in a Ford Mondeo/Vauxhall Insignia V6 without airbags in a car made out of wafer thin material that doesn't even have a ncap rating ;). Tony Pond was just a different pedigree of rally driver.

The first episode of Drive on NBC Sport is available on YouTube.

It's everything TG used to be and then some!

Game over for TG..... IMO Yes.

Mostly created by a speaker than the engine sadly on the Golf R.:(

There's loads of cars doing this now. Everyone from BMW to VW (it's ubiquitous throughout the VAG range in their sporty models). Mate of mine got the newest Octavia VRS petrol and it does it on his as well. Sounds.... I dunno. I think if you didn't know it was fake/amplified/whatever, you'd be none the wiser. But when you do know, it kind of gets grating after a while. The amount of threads on Briskoda titled "how do I disable/turn off/unplug the sound generator" is ridiculous. You can do it through the VCDS of course, but if you haven't got access to one you have to start pulling off trim surrounds around the wipers / bottom of the window to get at and unplug it.

Historic Super Touring Championship at Oulton Park. Great to see these again!

Also worth mentioning the current BTCC cars were doing 1:53's in practice and these cars not driven at 100% (For obvious reasons) were doing 1:46's. Progression hey ;)
