Apparently I'm in the wrong according one of my facebook friends as he uses it all the time...

The A40 GLOUC painted on the road means left turn only....

Where are the ****ing arrows then?? Retarded road design if I ever saw one.

I can't see how you are in the wrong, that car just cut across into your lane without signaling or looking!

If you had kept trying to go around the roundabout and not come off where you did then you would have been wrong but that car would still have hit you if you hadn't braked.

Edit: Actually he did signal, but still couldn't have looked before moving over into your path.

Awful markings on the roundabout frankly, as the signage you pass indicates A40 Glous and Ross on Wye are the first 2 turnings, with A40 Wales straight over. The lanes SAY A40 Glous Ross on the left and A40 Wales on the right, which would suggest you shouldn't be taking the Wales exit from the left lane, however the actual lines marked on the road don't really tie in very well. If there was supposed to be no traffic flow from the left lane to the Wales turning it would be easy to mark the roundabout to 'push' you off one of the first two and have the other lane sweep outwards.

Loved the manly FLOOR IT BECAUSE YOU WRONGED ME though :p

genuinely surprised it could keep up with those cars. Pains me to say that.

You shouldn't be. If you want to go fast in a straight line, buy a bike. Ducati are claiming the 1199 super has the best power (and torque) to weight ratio of any production motorcycle in history. It weights about 179kg wet and has a top speed of around 200mph, though with a taller final gear could easily achieve more and continue walking away from both those cars.

I posted a video from 1320video in this thread a while back of some guys in the states running street cars with seriously big numbers and a guy rocked up on a stock 750cc GSXR and he was walking away from GTRs running 600 and more bhp and managing to out accelerate from rolling starts 800bhp Supras. And depending on the year and model of the GSXR they're "only" 120-150bhp. The GSXR 750 weighs about 179kg dry.

Edit: Did a bit more reading on the Duke. Magnesium frame. Carbon fibre sub frame. Titanium exhaust. Magnesium forged wheels. Aluminium suspension bottoms with titanium springs. Valves and rods are all titanium. Tungsten crankshaft. It's ineligible for World Super Bikes because there's only going to be 500 made, so doesn't meet homologation. And in street trim it's only a pound heavier than the minimum to compete in WSB. So in race trim, it would need weight added to compete anyway. They're guesstimating it produces around 200bhp. That gives it, apparently, 1146 bhp per ton. A Veyron SS will apparently give you 625 bhp per ton.

That thing is absolutely mental. Now I understand the mental price tag.

That's crazy. They should never have been allowed to sit there by the stewards. A bit more air and that car would have cut clean through them. On most of the corner exits for quite some distance at the NW200 course there's signs hammered into the banks "no spectators" because bikes can (and do) go on for a considerable distance once they go down. On the inside of a corner you can basically sit as close to the road as you want. The only thing that prevents it is hedges and barbed wire fencing from fields lining the course.

What I get from that is that bike is quick! With a decent launch it'd be even better, genuinely surprised it could keep up with those cars. Pains me to say that.

F = ma. You cannae break the laws of physics! The bike is so much lighter than the cars. On paper, it could have much faster acceleration than the cars. The effective power to weight ratio is not higher by as much as the usual numbers imply because those numbers don't include the weight of the rider/driver and that's far more of a factor for the bike than for the cars, but they are a fair bit higher. The limiting factor has to be applying the power - you've got a fraction of the traction that the cars have and far less to resist wheelying.

Shocking track behaviour....if a mod decides they text is bad, then you'll just have to search for How not to drive bedford trackday and look for the kebab one.

I'm very surprised he wasn't black flagged driving and over taking at those particular chosen moments!
