Motors YouTube Videos

What I always find shocking/strange in those Russian videos are the number of people that don't stop and just carry on as if nothing had happened. :/

Also it is frightening to see how badly they drive in really poor conditions!

I was thinking just the same. Maybe it is more dangerous to pull over at the side of a road where conditions are so bad.

There is no point stopping of you are not involved. Anyone who has a crash has to wait for the police for insurance purposes. This can often take hours

Even to make sure people are okay? Offering witness statements? Some of those crashes were pretty violent.

Have to say I've stopped and helped every time I've been a witness to an accident, albeit I've only had to do it 3 times, but still, it wouldn't feel right me getting on with my life without at least helping out or offering my information to the authorities. I once had to do minor 1st aid for a biker that had been knocked off - I'd do it again if I had to.

I am sure I read something that it was because people were getting framed for accidents they weren't even in, even if they stopped to help! which has been the main reason for the mass rise of dash cams in Russia, but agree it doesn't really make much sense, if they have it on camera then there is no reason not to stop to help.

Fair comment there - I guess it's a different culture and if there have been those cases then I can see why they wouldn't stop. That said, basic human nature should be there to help out your fellow man.

I've been in a position in the past where I was the only person left on the scene after an accident I had nothing to do with! Heard a bang at the crossroads outside my old house. Looked out of the window to see a smashed up car driving away at speed. Got his number plate so popped outside to make sure the other guy was OK and give him the details of the fleeing car etc.

As it was a main road with a fair bit of passing traffic I also grabbed a brush from the house and started sweeping the bits of glass and broken car to the kerb whilst this other guy was on the phone to a mate. As I was doing this a police car drove past. 30 seconds later the police car came back the other way and stopped, having obviously noticed there had been an incident. I started explaining the situation to the officer, turned to point to the other guy mid sentence and noticed he wasn't there! He obviously had something to hide and had also legged it so there I was in the middle of the road with a broom and a smashed up car having to explain to the police that it was nothing to do with me and that both of the drivers involved had fled the scene!

I wouldn't either, unless it was a very serious crash where a fatality is likely. In fact it's happened to me. I was in my pride and joy one night and the road was wet. A car with 4 young dudes coming the opposite direction came shooting round a tight bend with no regard whatsoever to the road conditions, it went past me sideways and smacked into a huge tree side on. I didn't bother stopping.

I remember when we started laying this out and setting up the shifter system I used and S2000 gear knob from my garage as a benchmark.

Good to see the first online video over 2 years after I started working on it and AWD.

Some really good period Group B footage in this vid. I still have no idea what went through some of the spectators minds being that close to cars that on the edge. Feel sorry for the drivers TBH - you know that one mistake means a lot of people in harms way.

Great cars, sound and spectacle however.
