Not all track days are the same....

...thank ****

Special peoples

Action days at Combe have always been a bit iffy and aren't a proper track day to be fair. It's £30 for 5 laps (or 10mins, something like that) and as you have loads of people attending from all types of clubs you do get utter morons on track...but it's only ever for a very short session. As for the drifting cars, those are part of a show so only certain pre arranged cars are out for that so they actually have some skill.

That was out a few times, hilarious thing. :D

Looks more like banger racing than a performance car day!

That Subaru at the end was so lucky not to get hit!

Understeer gets a free lap I'm guessing?

Blowing your engine gets a free lap on a flatbed / tow I know that much (not me, a Saab and a Focus ST thing). :D

I'm not defending the morons and the video is a compilation of morons but mostly it seemed fine when I was there, a few ball bags in cars but you have to expect that at a track offering £30 for a short session...you'll get morons. Proper days are fine I'm sure. As for the performance side of things...most of those cars didn't lose control so aren't in the video. :p

Also, due to knowing the level of skill being extremely low, I wasn't silly enough to bother going on track.

250 GTO, $32m worth of awesome.

I'd just settled down with some food before browsing. Now I have a plate of no longer properly hot food.

US$32M is rather silly for any car, but I can sort of understand it for that one. No doubt many modern cars would perform better at a fraction of the cost, but that car is a very special thing. If the magic car fairy offered me any car from any time, I think I might choose it rather than a modern supercar. It's nice that it's used, too. It's art, but it's not a sculpture.

I love his face in this, it's all like "how dare you have right of way and be indicating". :D

Just out of shot is the exit he was wanting to take, which was full and a people already waiting and partially blocking the roundabout so he had nowhere to go, yet saw me and pulled out to block my path.

Freiburger and Finnegan drive a low-rider Chevy Monte Carlo off-road. Why? Because Roadkill :D

If you did T bone him then did he not actually have priority as he was already on the roundabout before you even joined? So what priority is there?

just curious how insurance would see that.

It's a double mini roundabout and his exit was blocked, he shouldn't have entered as a) his exit wasn't clear b) There was a vehicle indicating and entering to his right. He looked at me when I was on the first roundabout, saw me indicating and that my exit was clear and his wasn't, then proceeded to pull out anyway, blocking my path and having to wait for traffic to clear before he could pull forward.

He stops when he realises I am indeed following through with my manoeuvre, then goes and stops again because he can't go any further. If I had an actual camera it might have all been clearer...I'd stuck my phone to the screen for another completely different reason and then this happened and made me laugh. :D

E: As for insurance, I'm sure they'd side with the 'respectable older gentleman just going about his business' rather than the 'speeding young man in a modified old Golf' even if it were a normal roundabout (I wasn't speeding).
