I don’t expect Lawson to be particularly good, does anyone?

I think he's a decent enough driver, who has a proven ability to adapt quickly to very different machinery. I'd say he's clearly better than Albon, but I also don't see much reason to believe he's going to trouble Max. The big challenge for Lawson is absolutely mental. Being thrown into the blender with as little experience as he brings is going to be a mighty challenge; something that I think its hard to imagine he has the mental strength and resilience for.

In some ways, the best thing for him would be if Red Bull slide backwards next year. If that car is 3rd or 4th best then the expectation to deliver podiums from it disappears and regular mid-points finishes become a decent result for him, and so long as he can avoid keeping it out of the walls he'll be solid. Checo's crash happy streak, especially in the season just gone, must have contributed to the decision to ditch him.

I'm rooting for Lawson to do well. I'm surprised at the initial impressions of him as a person being seemingly negative, I felt like he seemed ok from the very little I've seen but perhaps I've missed something.

On track I did enjoy his little scrap with Perez towards the end of the season (was it Mexico?) and I hope any subsequent dressing down from Horner is water under the bridge now.

He certainly won't be allowed to scrap with Max..

This forum is heavily bias against RB so wouldn't put much weight on what's said here.

Looking at the media, people seem fine with him joining, plus a couple memes about Yuki not getting a seat.

And to complete the 2025 grid with an absolute shock to nobody:

I'll admit to finding Hadjar a thoroughly unlikeable driver in F2, what with his propensity to ranting angrily on the rants and all. But I thought the way he was getting his engineer to tell him where Bortoleto was on track in the final race (after he through away his shot at the title by stalling on the grid) so that he could "race" against his rival was charming. Good luck to him and all the other rookies next year, it's going to be interesting to see which of them make it in F1.

So to make it easier and save confusion, the 'Visa Cash App Red Bull' team known as VCARB, junior team to the Red Bull team, known as RB, will change their name to Racing Bulls, or RB.

Bloody marketing department wanting the 'Red Bull' name somewhere in the junior team. Why the **** can't they just keep Torro Rosso and save all this nonsense.

Sorry, no real expectations of Hadja as well, stand out drivers seem few and far between these days.

Really?

Next year we get Bearman - who has scored points jumped into a car with no prep and qualified and finished ahead of Hülkenberg twice as a stand-in; Bortoleto - who has just won F3 and F2 in consecutive years as a rookie in both Formulas; and Kimi Antonelli who was the first four full seasons of single seater racing he entered. And that's on top of several stand-out young drivers already on the grid. I don't think I've ever seen such an exiting line up of drivers in the almost three decades I've been watching F1.

Hadjar and Doohan aren't such impressive drivers, it's true, but definitionally not everyone can be stand-out.
