I know that a few people here take part in Movember but for the rest you may or may not be aware that Movember is rapidly approaching so maybe you'll want to take part, maybe donate or maybe just have a laugh at the soup-strainers that people suddenly seem to be sporting. I'm starting this a bit early to see if we can't drum up some interest in it but it doesn't officially start until next month so I'll be relatively clean-shaven until then.

I thought about it last year but didn't quite get involved so this time round I've been talked into taking part, I say talked but it was more of a slightly hungover "do you fancy doing Movember this year?" - "yeah, alright". Oddly enough the mate who suggested it seems to have dropped off the face of the Earth but I'm still hopeful he'll pull through and join me on this voyage into beardy-weirdiness. Anyway, pointless backstory aside forget the silly name as it's a good cause, prostate cancer is a disease that affects huge numbers of men across the UK and World with any money raised from Movember going to Prostate Cancer UK. If you'd like to donate, take part or even just to have a laugh at my doubtless feeble attempts to grow facial hair then my page is here and from there you can do all those things.

A picture of what I'll look like at the start of the month, barring any horrendous disfiguring/improving accidents is below so viewers of a sensitive disposition are advised to look away now.

I didn't do it last year, but many people did join in the moustache growing. Not sure how much money will be raised for the charity, but it's good fun nonetheless and even if it brings awareness around for one more person then it's worthwhile in that sense.
Probably do it this year, I'm sporting a fair face fuzz at the moment as I can't afford to buy a new razor. Pity me.

Wish I could but work are a right bunch of fannies when it cones to facial hair (ridiculous I know

had 18 days off once and done pretty well. Love to give a month a go.

Bit of a bump to see if anyone else is interested in taking part in Movember this year as it's rapidly approaching now. My mate has resurfaced and is taking part so at least I'll know he's suffering too - the daft eejit that he is.

Running this at uni as well through them Chemistry Society. Managed to get a fair few lecturers to agree to take part, as well as a fair chunk of the students.

Well done to everyone taking part!

A friend of mine is trying to persuade loads of us to do it, problem is I despise facial hair older than a few days so I'm going to have to say no to this. He however alreasy has a full beard and Moustache and has had for a few years... Which means he's not really joining as he's not going to shave his beard off... :p

I feel your pain. 24 and I can't progress past the 'are you just starting puberty?' phase of facial hair. Damn you Jebus!

Well at least I'm not the only one! I get a bit of very soft 'stubble' after 4 days of no shaving, but never ever gets more than that. It's like my body just gives up growing it lol.

That said, it can be an advantage in my line of work, don't NEED to shave every day to look smart.

Might give this a go this year, I won't be collecting any money though. No one's going to pay me to cover my head in even more ginger hair. I've not shaved since Thursday, got a nice bit of hobo fuzz going on. Will post pics when it's a bit more respectable.
