Hi guys..

My current contract is ending with O2, and while I don't actually want to move they have given me really no choice but to.

I have been a customer for about 5 years with an above average spend and yet they cannot offer me any half decent deals which aren't an insult, even after speaking to loyalty.

I have decided to request my PAC code and move network entirely as there are much better deals available on the interweb...I can get a Desire HD, £25pm on T-Mob with all the minutes and texts I need + Quidco cashback.

I was wondering, can anyone tell me the steps for my number to a different network? I have never actually done it before, so I'm curious to know how it works, and how quickly the process can be completed without downtime?

Could someone also comment on the data coverage for T-Mobile? I know they don't have EDGE implemented on their network but how is it generally? I have never really experienced any problems with O2.

Also, when I requested a PAC on the phone, the clown sent me a disconnection notice form!

Thanks

:)

1) Ring O2 on +448448090202 or 202 from your O2 mobile and ask for a PAC code (this will usually be sent to you via text within 24-48 hours and is valid for 30 days from the day you recieve the text)
2) Order your T-Mobile contract.
3) As soon as you know when your phone will be delivered, give T-Mobile a call on +448454123123 and give them your PAC number (the PAC migration process will take about 2-3 days. As soon as the PAC has been transferred, your O2 contract will end and you will be billed for what you have used during that month)

The data coverage for T-Mobile is very good now.. They have recently merged networks with Orange so you get best of both worlds!

And there you go! Hope that helps. Out of interest.. How many minutes/texts/internet do you get on the £25 p/m package?

Thanks for the info. I rang CPW O2 and they emailed me a form to fill out. My contract ends on the 27th Nov, so am I good to order the other contract now?

When you say it takes 2-3 days, does that mean you have to use the temporary number for that period?

The deal is 600m, 500txt and web, which is enough for me!

I would wait until closer to the 27th November before ordering another contract as you may aswell use the allowance on your current contract up instead of paying for two contracts but it's up to you.

If you ring T-Mobile before you recieve the phone (around 2 days before your scheduled delivery) then you can kill 2 birds with one stone so to speak as the number will be in the process of being ported over whilst the phone is still on it's way to you which means as soon as you recieve it.. your number will already have changed over.

Just my two cents :)

My brother has been on O2 for a while now and gets offered very little when renewing his contract. I'm on Orange and would recommend to anyone.

Actually I have always been offered decent deals by O2. Seems like my luck ran out this time. A few years ago I threatened to leave and they basically put 11 months of credit on my account so I only had to pay 1 month of that contract!

Hope I can squeeze through the T-Mob credit check...

Edit: So I managed to get accepted by T-Mobile...So the DHD is coming tomorrow...although it's a bit of an anti climax as I'm just going to sell it straight off the bat!

What do you class as an "above average" spend?
