I've done 210 miles in the past few weeks and I have noticed my petrol gauge is near red. I was expecting the car to get around 350. I have been ragging the car abit though.

Is this normal for around 200?

Do you normally get 350 then? If you are ragging it it will get quite thirsty. My parents had a mk2 clio and the fuel tank is pretty small on them so 210 miles wouldn't suprise me.

No. My friend had a 1.4 clio and used to get 350.

what mk?

i have a mk1 1.8 and recently got 210 miles (motorway) to a tank. turns out the thermostat was stuck open, making the car run rich.

normally i get around 350 miles to a tank (combined) - 400 if its just motorway

Not entirely sure. Its a 98+ model. Not the 92-97. The miles I have done was mostly town driving.

depends on how big your tank is, ie 40l or 55l. 40l being more common on small cars.
But you should be getting atleast 300miles from a 40l tank in a 1.4 tbh.

You can still get good economy whilst giving a car a bit of stick. Sitting at high revs and going right up to the red line will kill your economy but I get good economy despite accelerating full throttle most of the time with a fair chunk of my gear shifts not done before 4000 RPM.

Thats low, you will have a 50L tank, but if you have been racing it and town driving then you would expect low mpg.

not really, cost me £36 to fill up in my saxo(same as clio), which equates to 40 litres...

My GF has an X reg clioII 50L tank, we put in 45L nearly every time we fill up(over £40), its only the 1.2 but we get 350 - 400 miles, and it aint hanging about either, all of the revs are used and short distances too.

I managed to get just UNDER 200 miles from a tank of optimax once(£46), raced all the way to scarbourgh. lol its scary, get 300-350 normally and i dont daudle!, Thats a 1.6 focus. depends completely how you drive

It's true, I did - Mine was a MK1 phase 2 though and I believe the engines are different. I tended to get 350 out of a tank but you have to remember that I didn't really rag my car (its a 1.4 clio after all :p) on a daily basis. I also did a 50 mile round trip a couple of times a month to my dads which was all chilled motorway miles.

On the occasions where I did go for for spirited drives down the lanes etc. I was able to get a lot less than 350. The worst I got from a full tank was about 200 miles and that was from me driving it like I stole it one weekend.

So really, if you slow down a bit and don't drive like a loon everywhere (;)) you will probably manage a few more miles to the tank!

I've got a 2003 Clio 1.6 have been managing to get 200 miles out of £20s worth of optimax, works out quite well really.
Thats driving normally but its still getting a good few blasts as I just can't resist.

Get better mpg than my old 1.2 16v did, used to managed 35mpg if I was lucky and that was driving it the same way I did my 1.6 now, swear there was something wrong with it though.
