MSI 7950 twin frozr help!

for interest - if I was to buy one - and the fan issues were there - am I right in thinking you DSR it as faulty ? therefore getting postage both ways refunded ?

You DSR it, you pay postage, RMA it as faulty and it is tested faulty, I think it's refunded, but best to ask in CS for clarification. :)

DSR as faulty is not necessarily true as you don't need a reason to DSR it, you just DSR it. You'll have to pay postage.

You could argue with them though and say that as they've issued you a "broken" product from day 0 they should cover the cost of the return postage. They're not obliged to but if you speak to somebody reasonable I'd say they're likely to agree.

They did for me.

Finished having a good play with mine that arrived today, no diode problem, it ramps up and down in stages-although it would have suited me better if it did believe it or not.

Noisy though under load, though admittedly I'm used to the mighty AC Extremes-different planet regards noise and cooling.

Voltage didn't work through AB, only Trixx actually applied it, but that leaves no vram voltage adjustment but it's moot anyway as...

1100/1500 CrossFire(TFIII+Ice-Q) through CCC with no added voltage/mucking about with oc tools will do me nicely thanks very much, can't grumble at that . ;)

Thanks OcUK. :D

Just got an RMA for the MSI 7950 Boost Edition I purchased a few weeks ago as it has developed the same fan problem.
Seems to be a bit hit an miss though on wether or not the fans reduce after playing.
World of Warcraft doesnt seem to be a problem, but BF3 and Crysis 3 both have the issue (though not 100% of the time).
Also having an issue that the card starts 'buzzing' if the fans go over about 80% :(
Couldt get a direct replacement as I purchased the item in-store, but live in Ireland and need to mail the card back, so my only option is to get a refund.
Just went ahead last night and ordered the gigabyte 7970 Windforce 3X, and will post the MSI back on tuesday.
Whole damned country has ground to a halt at the minute due to St Paddys day fast approaching ;)
