Note:

As you all may know, to unlock all the clocks on the Core and Memory sliders, it required a BIOS flash on some of the card vendors, im using the Sapphire 5850 and had to flash to MSI bios to unlock the sliders.

Ive just reflashed to my original Sapphire Bios and tried and it appears you still need to use an unlocked bios to unlock the sliders :(

This was the one feature i hoped they would have included, so it seems bios flash is the way to go still - even though i read it was possible to unlock the sliders without the bios flash.

This new version doesn't kill performance when monitoring like earlier versions did, Unwinder replaced all the AMD monitoring code with his own because theirs was by his own admission rubbish.

will try in GTA shortly, with max texture settings, max rendering, very high shadows, 45 something draw distance and the rest as high as the mem will take it on a 32" inch tv i get along the line of 32fps (according to afterburner, drops down to 29 on some night occasions), this was in v1.3.

will see if i get any noticeable difference or less stuttering with this new afterburner...

I didn't try the msi, because the msi bios is modded with RBE, and some ppl reported that RBE caused stability issue with their 5850. This asus bios is not modded, it is extracted from ASUS EAH5850 Voltage Tweak card.

From your pic:

Pixel Fillrate: 28.8 GPixel/s
Texture Fillrate: 64.8 GTexel/s
Bandwidth: 160.0 GB/s

On mine:

Pixel Fillrate: 23.2 GPixel/s
Texture Fillrate: 52.2 GTexel/s
Bandwidth: 128.0 GB/s

can you confirm this is for 5850?

ah i see, thanks again ;)

.....

now i get:

Pixel Fillrate: 32.6 GPixel/s
Texture Fillrate: 73.4 GTexel/s
Bandwidth: 150.4 GB/s :)

Volts: 1237
Core: 1015
Memory: 1170

Still trying ways to get higher.

ive just flashed to the asus bios by the way, and i can confirm it does work > not tested in games yet though.

Also i thought the core and mem would go to 1200/1400 respectively, it doesnt for me.

Just curious, what makes you say that? Not just the tick box in RBE?

heyy. i have a 5870. and im wondering, am i missing out by not flashing my sapphire card with the asus bios and overclocking it? does the overclocking make much difference and how far can these cards go on the standard cooler?
Thanks =]

what do you mean by 1200/1400 respectively?

did you try to set the core to 1200 and memory to 1400?

Also why do you run your memory @ 1170? this memory chips are rated to run @ 1250 so you should safely use 1250mhz memory clock

overclocking will make a good difference ;)

the sliders wont go to 1200 on core, or 1400 on mem (just 1090/1300)

if i run my mem any higher gta iv flickers a bit crazy - will lower the core see if that helps
