*****MSI Gaming Laptops - Stock Secured, get your XMAS Orders in NOW!*****

I've got a gx660 on order too. Originally was going for the gx740, but decided the higher spec, neater case and portability was preferable to the larger screen.

Can't wait for mr DPD to deliver in his magical reindeer pulled van.

gettin so flipping antsy! lol, pay packet comes in at 11pm tomoro night and want one of these preordered asap lol.

*crosses fingers that msi are generous and deliver before the eta ;-)*

i can hope!

Can't wait to take delivery of this beast.
It is intended as a Xmas present for myself but what do you think the chances are of me putting this away until Xmas :D.

Does anyone know anywhere to get decent insurance for this laptop. I live in shared accommodation so am a little fearful that someone's going to steal or damage my baby

I found a mini review via the link below for the GX660R which has the i7 processor which i assume would run hotter than the i5.

Here's what was said "

-Heat and noise:
This part is still in progress, but the little I can tell you, and proudly so, is that this machine is cool. How cool? under 78C at load, on auto fan settings. Want super cool temperatures? Kick the Turbo Fan on, and watch your max temps reach around 68-70C depending on your ambient temps and games!

I will add Furmark Xtreme tests, as well as additional screenshots with 3dmark runs and 68C temps.

Every single gaming notebook I have ever owned, has had temperatures on the 90C range. Specially my last G51J laptop, equipped with the GTX260m, reaching up to 97C while normal gaming, underclocked... So yeah, I wasn't expecting such superb temps.

I am testing with different overclock settings and gaming. Right now I have successfully game'd at 800/1030 for hours (from stock 700/1000) but when I tried playing some games at 840/1070, I ended up crashing with a screen full of black/white bars and all frozen. My veredict was that the RAM couldn't take it, as temps were around 73C.

As a note, I only overclock and game using turbo fan on. Without turbo fan, I have seen temps on the 83C range, and I prefer to keep things cool."

I'm so temped to buy one of these, probably the GX660 and sell my current rig. I'm only at home during the weekends so my current rig sees little use nowadays and I do nearly all my gaming on the PS3 anyway. No brainer? Could probably make some cash buy doing this too...

Dude I work away and this is what ill be doing, I have a decent i7 setup which will be for sale when i get home.

The GX660 will now be my portable/home gaming system :)

Anyone know if the CPU can be overclocked on the GX660?
