Behind you... Naked!
I got the K8N this morning, after a good wait.

I decided to use that instead of my other MSI, which is a Neo2, sort of the AGP equivalent of this new board.

The thing is, that when I started it up, it was dead. Absolutely nothing worked, and even the diagnostics board was just black!

I have gone through it with a fine tooth comb, but its completely kaputt

Before I moan like hell, is it possible that I could simply be missing something?

I used the Ultra X-Connect on it, and the Mobo power cable is 24 on the new one and its 20 on the old one, so I dug out the right cable, and thats brand new, and I suppose I could maybe have missed something, like its simply a dead cable perhaps, and tomorrow I am going to try out a hyper instead, and thats in my P4 and needing the extra 4 pins, so I know thats good.

But I am 99% sure its a good cable.

What else is possible other than its a dead board?

Erm dont know if this would make any difference but have you tried resetting the CMOS??

Taking the battery out and replacing it with a new one?

Erm......If all power connections are correct and psu is dying then you will still get a light on the mobo I believe...

Clear CMOS well, yes, but I am getting NOTHING from the Mobo.

Battery? - Yup, took it out and tried it with and without and with a new one too

PSU is working just fine.

I used it with my Neo2, it works fine. Put in the SLI, got nothing and now back with the Neo and its just fine again... The PSU itself is perfect. I had thoughts of the 24 Pin cable ( Its a modular PSU ) being duff, and I need to verify that in the morning by trying this PSU with the 24 Pin cable in another PC, but also another PSU too with the SLI Mobo... To check the cable vs the Mobo.

But with the 20 Pin cable, this PSU is flawles...
