msi z68a-gd80 6-pin + 8-pin connectors?

I'm still speccing up my new build, and have never used an 1155 mobo, so need to know what cables / extenders I need.

Does the above need both 8 and 6pin power connectors?

It the standard connector on these mobos 8-pin?

Sorry, coming from an AMD skt 939 mobo...

You would need the 8 pin for CPU power and the main 24 pin ATX connector.

Edit: I would suspect the 6 pin would be used for running multiple gpu's.

Dependant on what gpu you buy this will would need the 8 pin and 6 pin or 2 x 6 pin.

yeah the 6 pin is an optional extra to provide smoother power delivery if you plan on running a high powered multi-GPU configuration

I'd be inclined to check out your PSU, if it hasn't already got the relevant connectors it may be just not be up to the job.
