msn account locked by easy tool

well as topic a mate decided it would be fun to pee me off last night by using some sort of tool called icecold reloaded basically all he does it put my/anyones hotmail account email address in the tool and it denys the person access to the msn account until he takes it off
Now i dont use msn that much but when stuff like this happens i get worried as im no network/internet connection guru should i be worried? how does this software work? how the hell does microsoft get away with loophole software like this? and lastly how can i stop it

thanks for reply helps a lot knowing what it does because he was spurting some bullcarp about hacking into my account etc etc and i thought it sounded too good to be true knowing his knowledge
