much of a upgrade from 8800 GTX to Asus ATI Radeon HD 3870 X2 ?

Some people will say yes it is but then at the other end there has been people who have gone from an 8800GTX to a 3870X2 and then went back to the 8800GTX as they were not happy with the performance increase, as in, it was too small to warrant the need for a 3870X2. I'd stick with the 8800GTX for now IMO.
 
I dont have SLi on my motherbaord so I cant go that route. was hopeing the 9800GTX card would be a big upgrade but from reading on here it is total pants and not a Huge leep forward from a 8800 GTX

Looks like another 12 months waiting for a worth while 1 card upgrade
