Multi threaded games: 3570k vs 3770k

Alright I wont get sucked in to the marketing etc....

I just dont want to regret getting the 3570k if these next gen games prove to be game changers... even then it will be all about the gpu... anyway.

So go with my brain rather than my err... heart!
 
The next gen of games (since games are now basically made for consoles (sadfais)) will probably never use HT for agessss. So few next gen games are designed and made for PC. Usually the companies make the console version and port it (since it works out cheaper) but some take the console version take it to bits and rework it so to speak to run on a PC.
 
There's negligible differences between the two. The base architecture and the features you need are there. The i7s just have tinsel on the top and bragging rights that come with the badge.

HT made virtually no difference in the single core netburst days, it's even more irrelevant and pointless with quad core CPUs in the typical desktop IMO.

Exactly what he said. Unless your actually going to use it a decent amount it's not really worth it.
