Reet this one is a bit complicated and theres about 900 questions i could do with the answer to, any help is much appreciated.

So I have a PC upstairs, it's in the same room as the phone socket and the wireless router (which is a nice shiny sky netgear jobby). The ping on my network is not fantastic but at least its consistent. I tend to get pings around the 60s / 70s, plenty enough for shooting people in the face online.

Now then, there is a laptop floating around downstairs which gets used for browsing web pages when i cant be arsed to go upstairs, accessing the same wireless router. However, here is where the problems begin, i have a girlfriend (this isn't a problem ;)) but she is an internet whore and spends way too much time on forums (says me posting on here right now) if both the PC and laptop are connected, my pings race up to 2000+ and i cant do sod all. It might be worth noting that if the laptop connects alone the time taken for a webpage to load is insane .... like 10 seconds usually.

So she bought me a 360 elite for chrimbo which is mint, its downstairs. I obviously want to play online but i can't believe how "out of order" the price is for a stupid wireless bridge from microsoft. Right then, the questions.

1 .. Why does my PC ping go stupid when the laptop gets used, is it to do with the fact that they are both using wireless. e.g. would wiring the PC into an ethernet port on the router help at all?

2 .. Why is the laptop slow as a slug even when its the only thing accessing the net?

3 .. Is there a cheaper way of getting my 360 online? that doesn't involve drilling through the ceiling to get a cable to it? Can you get a device maybe, that connects wirelessly to the router and gives wireless internet access? Could i maybe also wire my 360 into this device?

4 .. Why does my girlfriend use the internet so much? ;)

Thanks in advance for any help.
