I have a Sony 5.1 surround system with the rear speakers being mains powered wireless ones.
The processor only has one optical input. I currently have a switchbox where by to achieve surround sound through the 5.1 I have to get up and manually switch the switch to the relevant source. Sources are TV, Xbox 360 and PS3 and possibly soon Sky Plus HD.
I know it sounds lazy, but its archaic having to get up from the couch to switch the sound. At the time, I couldnt find a better option.
Can anyone suggest how I would combine 4 optical sources in to one input without using a manual switchbox? I guess the issue is the surround processor not knowing which source I want it to play through the speakers, if theres audio coming through multiple lines?
