Hi,

I have a standard BT Home Hub with wifi, and a mesh wifi with a different ssid using the BT wifi. In my study, the mesh wifi is nice and strong, so it's my preference.

However, I have one piece of software which requires port forwarding. I am struggling to get this to work on my mesh wifi, but it works fine direct with the main BT network.

Is there a way to create a second wifi profile so I can swap between the two as and when required? My oter hope will be to create a powerline ethernet connection for the BT network, but that's a last resort.

Assuming it’s windows, you can create a second network interface For the same adapter in Network & Sharing centre and give that the new settings. Then swap between them as required.

Or, probably a lot less hassle, you can just add another WLAN card to the PC and run them both at the same time. 802.11ac cards are pretty cheap these days.
