Im trying to lower the multiplier on my AMD Athlon 3500, so i can get the memory speed and cpu speed the way i want them..

I change the multiplier from 11 , to 10 and press F10 to save the changes.. then when i boot into windows and open cpu-z the memory speed and HTT, or multiplier having changed..

ive tried lowering multiplier to 9, but it still doesnt show a change in windows..

ive restarted the pc three times and turned it off then on.. but everytime i go back into the bios its set to what i saves it to

abit boards are not that great for overclocking, more of a stock board
the all suffer from poor bios support and memory options.
abit not the same company as a few years ago.

What Bios version do you have Taken?

I seem to be suffering from exactly the same issue. I have a 3200+ venice with AN8 fatal1ty non-SLI. When I lower the multiplier to 8 and up the HTT to 240 the BIOS reports 1920 for the CPU speed but when I boot, cpu-z and uGuru shows the multiplier as 10 and the cpu as 2400.

I have the lates BIOS and software versions. Is this a known bug?

i think this might be due to cool and quiet. After disabling this in the bios cpu-z and uGuru both now show less than a x10 multiplier (and I can o/c better now too).
