Wear what you want, especially if it’s the sort of thing your mother would see as being perfectly acceptable.

Chat with your immediate family first, they may have the same opinion as you.

The idea of black suit and white shirt is outdated IMO and a lot of people (my family included when my nan died last spring) are moving towards brighter colours. Celebrate her life, not her death. :)

Wear what your mum would have liked you to wear, only you will truly know this.

sorry for your loss, I lost my mum in 2007 and it was a heartbreaking time. Make sure you have something to read that would make her a) laugh, b)proud.

you will be fine, just give it time.

Hawaiian shirt, shorts and flip flops, if you feel comfortable in it.

Keep it light hearted, yes its sad and some people just thrive on being this way and have tendency to bring it all down to their level of doom.

Do not forget the alcohol its what it was invented for.
