In that case, I recommend calling the police, asking to speak with someone working on the case, explain the situation and find out what your options are. I doubt you'll find a better way to be fully briefed on the scenario.

I will do this at a more reasonable hour. No point in consuming minimal night resources.

Society saddens me nowadays. If I could help a murder investigation by not using my car a few days I would happily do so.

Words depart me. There is so little compassion and manners left in our society today :(

You say that, yet the majority here are against this action.

Police are 24/7 so a later time is due to you having no reason.

who cares man its just a day? :] if you're that bothered go and ask the family that just lost their member for some cash so they can pay for you taxi..

I would love to see this.

Unreasonable?
I've seen whole businesses have to shut up shop in London because there has been a murder outside. Its just a very unforeseen thing you will have to let inconvenience you for a short while. As Scuzi says, it could even potentially lead to convicting somebody, or may mess up evidence just moving your car.

The most sensible approach, as others have already pointed out is speak to the Police.

Its hardly like this is something that is going to happen to you every week. Infact, its probably never going to happen to you again in your lifetime. You still have a story out of it though, you are sure to have the best weekend story when you go to work on Monday.

Fair point. I'm just shocked the OP feels that the use of his car is more important than helping catch someones killer.

I am not asking for moral judgement. I am asking for legal and policing fact.

hence why i said

Options?

not

how can i correct this vicious injustice that has been visited upon me?

if i have no options, fine. I'll take a cab.

There are no facts in law, only interpretations.

Don't get me wrong, I am surpirsed as the next for this guys attitude, but what can you do, you can lead as donkey to water but you cant get him to drop dead.

Im just happy the most I know are insensitive, as for leagal procedure, if an officer on site told me one thing i wouldnt question it.
