Muse - Put the Dubstep down and back away.

On the bright side, the first 90 seconds sounded more promising than most of The Resistance and Black Holes and Revelations and that might be the only 30 seconds of dubstep on the whole album.

They could easily have taken 30 seconds from Undisclosed Desires, Hoodoo, Blackout or Micro Cuts and made those respective albums sound completely different to how they are.

I like Blackout.

Absolution as a whole is a great album.

EVERY band loses its way a bit, whether its Queen, who were on their arse and a borderline joke prior to live aid, having released some extremely poor material or poor old mental Matt.

I like bands to mix it up.

Muse are a band that are all about experimentation and they love messing around with their style and instruments. This is, for me, a band exploring every aspect of music that they wish without boundaries.

Too many bands pump out the same sounding **** over and over. I really liked the trailer tbh, very political as always, with hidden messages, and still feels like muse.

Looking forward to it

Working with a composer was the next logical step for Muse. The dubstep stuff is a bit weird, sounds like it was made with guitars and not keyboards. Which is kinda cool but on the whole it's terrible. Are they just becoming a parody of themselves now?

I love Blackout and the whole of Absolution (even Endlessly) but it is not at all representative of the whole album which was was my point. They have always had songs that use influences that are nowhere to be found on the rest of the album and I am hoping that the dubstep moment here is one of them.

I agree with you.

Not even sure what this 'dubstep' thing is exactly , but by the sounds of this I dont want to know either

In all fairness the proof of the pudding is in the tasting as they say ;)
