Just wondered who listens to music whilst riding?

I used to, haven't for a while. I have found/made a nice playlist for summer time, but need to buy some new earphones, anyone rec some for helmet use? HAS to have a volume dial on the cable...

I wouldn't even dare to listen to anything while riding my bike, I already see myself crashing somewhere :D

I've only listened to my ipod while driving a car once for a short period and it just didn't feel right.

I used to listen to the radio on my ipod through a single-ear mono earpiece (they type they give you when you're learning). Problem is, the radio reception was awful, and it was very annoying.

I then won an autocom, but just couldn't get on with it. Still have it, plan to ebay it.

At the moment, I just have the earplugs, but I really really really really want a Scala g4. Just need to rob a bank or something first.

It feels odd enough listening to music with earphones when driving a car, a bike must be worse!

Police already said that whilst I was driving with my ear-phones it was "driving without due care and attention"

Then again, they were chasing me with the sirens and lights for 1 mile through town and I couldn't hear them. :D

Now I don't even chance it.

Done it a few times, but then got bored of the earphones keep falling out of my ear when I was either trying to put the helmet on, or mid ride, so stopped.

I always ride with 1 earphone in, usually on the side of my exhaust. Helps drown out the sound of my exhaust(which I love on short journeys) on long journeys, and keeps me more alert rather than just zoning out after a hundred odd miles.

As a relative novice biker I'd never do it in Britains roads.

Dunno about a car though lol, quite happy drowning out the world in my slowmobile.

Listening to music, don't! Please wear ear plugs especially if you have a loud exhaust. I have tinnitus because of my last bike which had a loud exhaust. I wouldn't wish tinnitus on anyone.

I always used to when commuting 40m a day (6 years worth), but found with Akras fitted and wind noise, you really needed to crank it up and I actually started to develop tinnitus.

Not avisable for that reason!

I don't bother for that reason now. Plus now I like to listen to the bit V-twin growling!

I do 90 miles a day in commute and would go mental if I didnt' have my music.
Once you learn not to let the music tempo affect your riding tempo it is fine.

When I'm riding I can't hear other road noise over the engine and exhaust so I've not lost any senses.

Earplugs on every journey for me.
When on a longer journey, Autocom and ipod in the tankbag and some tunes. I can still hear the road and things around me as I dont have the music that loud. Loud enough to hear but not enough to distract. The Autocom "speakers" are behind the side cushions in the helmet.
Been doing it for a few years now, anything over about a 30min ride really, on a proper long one (like trip to France last July) it was a godsend!
