The home secretary, Theresa May, has ordered Muslims Against Crusades, an Islamist group which is planning to disrupt Friday's Armistice Day ceremonies, be banned from midnight.

The organisation, which burned two large poppies near the Royal Albert Hall in London on Remembrance Day during the minute's silence last year, is a renamed successor to the already banned Islam4UK and other proscribed organisations. Anjem Choudary is a leading figure in both groups.

Get in, at least she can get something right in her job as Home Sec

Nothing but sub human scum are these people, live in this country, take everything then disrespect its history and culture, if they are so mad why don't they go live in Afghan or Iran.

Been to my granddads grave today and put down a wooden cross with a popper on it down and paid my respects.

Words fail me when people think they have any right to burn a poppy for religious or political gain.

The intended banning of Muslims Against Crusades by Home Secretary Theresa May is a great victory for Islam and Muslims and highlights the sheer hatred the British government has towards sincere Muslims who wish to peacefully speak out against policies that are (from every angle) anti-Islam and anti-Muslim.

Insert obligatory 'get our of the country' comment here.

But good on here, it's disrespectful and if hadn't have been for the men (and women) that gave their lives for us then god knows how we would be living now.

These stupid groups choose to do a demonstration against crusades on armistace day and then they WHINE when we get ****ed of and then call it hatred towards them.

Damn right its hatred, ANYONE who got inthe way of such a day would be hated and would and should receive the same treatment. They bring it on them selves.

It has nothin to do with there religion its what they choose to go, and with no respect for others do.

Ugh stuff like this makes me sad to be asian when i have idiots like this bringing the rest us down.

They'll rename and reform as mentioned by the beeb. It's just a name and there's nothing in the law to stop them regrouping. It's basically whack-a-mole.

I don't like them or what they stand for, but there's two things - the right to protest and the right to an opinion. Just because we don't agree with their views doesn't mean we should ban them. It's hypocrisy that groups like the EDL, whilst under strict surveillance, are allowed to do virtually the same thing but at the other extreme end.

Good job our borders are so well secured so we don't accidentally let loads of these types into the country and then lose track of them.

Under the Shari’ah you won’t have to worry about fuel poverty, because there won’t be any. Allah (God) gave you the right to free gas and electricity over 1400 years ago, so who are we to change that?

You've got to laugh. That site is just rubbish.

I don't like the group, cannot stand what it represents, however I personally think it is wrong to ban them.

The planned Hell for Heroes demonstration has undoubtedly struck a raw nerve in parliament by exposing the blunt truth behind the poppy. The poppy, Armistice Day and Remembrance Sunday are the fig leaves behind which war crimes committed by serving British soldiers are covered and justified; they are tools used by the government to shore up support for the war effort and garner sympathy for the ruthless British Armed Forces.

More bile

They are just doing it to wind people up, nothing more, what about the families of lost soldiers, they didnt send the country to war, dont see these muslims going for the MPs or people in power, they are attacking something that millions of British people respect.

Good timing on her part, might take some focus away from her

Unfortunately I would say this is the case :(
This hasn't been done by the Home Office for any other reason than taking the pressure off themselves in the public eye.

Saying that though the silver lining is at least these idiots will not be able to create confrontation and flashpoints at an emotive time.

I'm also with KNiVES that we have to be careful about restricting the right to protest and the right to an opinion and in the least look at the actions of the EDL for balance.
