MW2 annoying me VERY MUCH

When Modern Warefare 2 multiplayer ACTUALLY WORKS, it crashes often when the maps are loading.

I am extremely annoyed at MW2 online now. The first month I played it it worked fine. But now it is barely working, crashing, lagging, when my internet connection is fine and my computer can easily play it on 1440X900 res and highest graphics settings with 30-60fps. It annoys me even more that there are tens of thousands of people who have the PC version like me and probably don't encounter any issues with the game and probably don't forward ports for it etc. Why do I have to be among the unfortunate people? It was like this for World at War last year and it hasn't worked since. Am I cursed and can never play any Call of Duty games online from now on? Call of Duty 4 worked absolutely fine.

I have forwarded ports for it, turned off my firewall and it still takes 5 minutes to find a game on TDM, despite there being thousands of people playing on it.

Please help me and give solutions as this game is full of issues when it shouldn't be. I shouldn't have to forward ports, let it through my firewall, make a static ip, to get this goddamn game to work. I paid £35 for it. Not to mention spending £140 on a high-end graphics card to make the graphics look awesome.

Don't get me started on Steam, that barely works despite forwarding ports, turning off my firewall, with my internet connection working fine.

And please don't say that I should have got the console version of it.

Right, I've done a quick search of your posts, and you seem to have trouble with steam too, and your internet only works when your phone is off the hook.

This is just a hunch now, but maybe, just MAYBE, there's something up with your internet connection.
 
prob on some crappy adsl in some old village! used to get that happen to me on games but since moving to a town with virgin cable i get no issues with MP gaming
 
The phone off the hook thing has been sorted.

My internet connection works fine.

It's just that games (MW2/Steam/WAW) don't work.
 
What error are you actually getting... TBH steam is 99% up MW2/Iwin can be flakey id say 75% ok - For me at least...

Id say it was either user error -your hardware setup wrong somewhere OR Just restart steam & MW2

Do you have any solutions to why I find it so hard to find any games despite that my NAT type is 'Open'?

ISP ~?? who is it sounds like them tbh. Fat lot of help that is.. :)

I have 5 or 6 mates that play and 1 guy is always having similar problems - he is always the freak that fails to connect or migrate or generally screws us over :O

Your steam nick isn't Rusty is it lol tee hee
 
Sounds like a more serious networking problem if other games arn't working. Does the internet work fine, youtube, flash websites, downloading, uploading? Do any games at all work?

If the answer is yes and yes. And it seems to be just a steam error. Then most likely the ports that steam uses are closed. If that doesn't solve it, chuck the pc out of the window and buy it for 360.
