Basically been looking for a new car for a while now..

I was considering a Smart Roadster, for a while..

But then i found out a friend of mine at work is selling this:

MX5 '98 1.8i Harvard (Hardtop Convertable)
39,000 miles
Alloys / Leather Interior / CD - Aircon etc
Full MAZDA service history..

And im very tempted, but wanted some feedback from you guys. Whats the insurance gunna be on this (25yr OLD / Derby Area)? And is the asking £3500 reasonable as it seems very good for its pristine condition.

Seems a decent price, is it MK1 or MK2 (MK1 has pop up lights)?

Assuming its a UK Car, and you've got a couple of years NCB then you should be able to get it insured for ~£500 I would think.

mx-5, if you don't need much space or too much comfort and wanna have a load of fun under or around the speed limit on back roads its totally the car for you :)

Wouldn't change mine for much tbh, although an extra 60 odd bhp would go down a treat :)

tis the jasper conran edition. its a 1.8is with connolly leather interior, nice silvery interior trim, sports zorst, uprated sony ice and body coloured badges. The special editions are the way to go, you usually get most of the above (apart from the red leather, there were only 100 of my baby done :D

if you wanna chat my msns in trust :)

If your saving money on the main price, you can afford stuff like HPI and a mechanical check that gives some guarantee to it.
I'd love a car like that, if you have some NCB I cant think of any reason why insurance would be terrible for you - plenty of places will give online quotes without a reg number

My Next door neighbour used to own one, took me out in his a few times and it feels like your sitting on the floor, he span it out on a round a bout :D

Took it for a test drive to say, and im sold.. I might update you with some picks when i get it cleaned :)

Although it do need some new trim surrounds (around the temp adjuster and CD player etc) inside as they have got cracked (assuming heat or sun exposer).. Anyone got some nice links for such things preferably in chrome or black? (There walnut at the mo but looks a bit naff)
