My 1st impression of photoshop.

Just installed Photoshop CS3 10 because we got some professional photos of us and our little boy done and I wasn't to happy with some aspects of them.

This program is AMAZING!!!!

I've never used ANY photo editing software before and its just brilliant!

I've taken all the photos and edited out all my spots LOL

Quality stuff! Genuinely amazed!

Are there any guides to getting stated with photoshop? Like demo'ing some of the things you can do with it?

This is really good fun!

Its a great program isn't it. As they say; The possiblities are endless. There are thousands of guides out there depending on what you want to do, but some that I found very usefull and easy to follow are Photoshop mama's guides on youtube;

'digital photo' magazine has a few excellent tutorials every month, i learnt a great deal from those.

I bought the book 'the photoshop CS2 book for digital photographers' by Scott Kelby, although I used it when I had CS2, it's pretty much the same in CS3. Great book, full of everything you need to get started.

Photoshop TV on iTunes is a good podcast to subscribe to.

Dunno, but £500 isn't exactly cheap to 'do it yourself' is it?

I'm not a student. But my brother is

I wonder if I got really good at photoshop if I could charge people to touch up photos etc.

Else everyone here would be doing it

It'll take you a while to get 'really good' to the point people would pay you too.
