Hi,

i managed to blow up my old Cambridge Audio A1 amp through the careless application of water and paperclips.

Does anyone have suggestions for a cheapish amp to replace it with? All that will be getting plugged into it at pair of Gale Silver Monitors, and all I really need it to do is be able to switch between Speakers and headphones, as well as adjust volume, Bass and Treble.

Basically spec me a simple, cheap, powered amp.

I currently have the speakers plugged into an old Sony hifi to get me by, but the sound definitely had something missing from it.

Sounds like a job for the NAD C320. Ugly, but can be had for under £100, and gives loads of power and sound quality for the price.

Interested to know what you were doing with water and paperclips that culminated in the death of your amp...!
