My Combi boiler is beating its least beats.

You have never met a 'heating engineer' then, you've met plumbers :p

'Heating Engineer' is such a terrible job title for a plumber with a gas safe card honestly why people in this country are allowed to assume jumped up job titles are charge over inflated prices is beyond me.

To the OP get what ever fits in your budget modern boilers are all much of a muchness and built down to a price point it's just some brands command a higher markup! I've seen bosh boilers fall apart just as quickly as renheat ones and I've seen raven heat ones run for years without a problem.

Finally find an installer by recomendation gas safe registration scheme or not the industry is full of charlatans and snake oil salesmen definitely a case of buyer be ware.

Im a gas engineer. Few things

Firstly bosch have no input on worcester boilers they merely hold the purse strings.

GLowworm are owned by vaillant and share a lot of common parts with the vaillants but not to the same standard.

Baxi - mid range boiler they leak a lot

Ariston/Alpha/Heatline/Ferroli/Halstead/Biasi/Chaffateux stay well clear of ALL of these.

Worcester and Bosch are the best "Mainstream boilers" Stay clear of the junior whilst it has decent output there is NO hot water temperature control which imo is very poor given its a modern boiler. If you really want a worcester then go for the 27CDI which has hot water temperature control and has the better heat engine.

Overall id go for a Vaillant Ecotec Pro 28 ;)

P.S you want the best most efficient boiler going then you need to be getting an ATAG boiler. they are the rolls royce of boilers
