Fallout for the huge number of mods.

i'd get crysis maximum edition off amazon also, cheaper tham buying complete pack off steam, and yeah i'd also say not too buy farcry 2, you'd probably get more fun out of a modded farcry 1.

Company of Heroes.

RTS, not RPG/FPS, but an absolute golden example of the genre. Arguably one of the best RTS games ever made.

i haven't come across 1, try browsing the groups though, i've seen many different forms of groups, this site covers many forms of interests tbh, anything from computing to overclocking enthusiasts to crazy troll science and even cooking groups lols, seriously lol go check out the groups you'll find everything you can think. I've been amazed at just how many different topics are covered on here... I haven't checked the groups out to the extent of knowing whether there's groups on here that play together or not but it's definately worth checking out from the group channels

Jez the space sim genre is a pretty sorry state, Wing commander is even listed. I love all the WC games and I just wish someone would give us some new material EA even renewed its licence on the IP about a year and half ago.

Something wrong with Vice City?!? The best game I've ever played.

As for a recommendation I would forward Fallout New Vagas, for £20 you get hours and hours of gameplay and plenty of re-playability value. The Witcher is also another game I would recommend without any hesitation and IMO as the storyline is nothing like you have every experienced.
