Just been out mapping dads Rover 200 which was a massive learning curve for me despite it actually being relativley simple. All we did today was make the car nice to drive though, we are getting a lamda sensor soon to get the fueling just right. The end result was quite good though, we managed to get the car to idle at around 1100rpm and stop it shunting or "kangaroo petroling" at 1500-2000 when at low or no throttle. We also got some smoother power from 2000 to 4000. When we get the lamda sensor we will tune it right through to 8500 or 9000rpm to get maximum power :D All in all has been a good evening though with a bit of "spirited" driving and nice father son time :)

Cool, what 200 is it? 214/216?

Rover or Honda engine?

I'm guessing if it's a Rover engine it has an aftermarket ECU. MEMs can't be remapped can it?

Erm, its a 200 buble shaped in nightfire red i think? It has a 1.8 fixed cam k-series and an EFI ECU. Infact most of the engine is aftermarket :D

Ohhh, a 218.

Did it start off like that or has it had a conversion?

Any ideas on its power? And dare I say it... got any pics? :D

Erm no it was a VI dad started off with because of the rear disks. He then got a new block, set of omega pistons and steel rods, a vulcan fixed cam race head and some extremley lumpy kent cams. A bit of head work aswell. Looking at about 200bhp maybe a little more.
As i say tonight we just tuned it roughly through feel and generall knowledge of how things should look. We also played with the ignition a bit to make it idle nicer as before when you stopped at the lights with no gas it just stopped :p

Pic ASAP!!!

Edit:dad has stolen the camera-No pics tonight :(
