Make a new char and start from Lv1, you need to learn the game, you can't just jump in at Lv80 and expect to know how to play

Don 't bother levelling a character to 80, you can learn how to play the class in PVP by doing battlegrounds, set aside a few hours a day and within a week you will be doing well.
If you levelled a character you'd be lucky to be level 30 and still have no clue about PvP!

@OP - ignore the level 80s. Reroll some new characters and level them up. You need to learn the game system at the very least before playing with max level characters.
Also, check out WoW Insider for newbie friendly guides and tips. With the change to the way the game plays in Cata, there's a load of guides for each class showing you how they work.
I agree, however the possibility of a decent contender or better is out there, somewhere, far, far away...
