My ICT A-Level website

But databases can still be taught merged into computing surely? And such work is easy to train people into understanding it. Regardless of what you study, you will still require training for most jobs out there. I remember doing my work experience from school in an office type job. A group of 4 or 5 people huddled around a circular hub of computers doing word / excel / database stuff. No one else in the group I was put to work with - all much older full time employees even knew how to change their desktops. When I showed them how, one still didn't realize the 'full screen' button for the smaller tile based wallpapers. A woman in the group jokingly commented 'OMG you shouldn't know more than we do, we've been working here a lot longer, you're fired!'.

Typical office job clowns that IT degrees are created for....

Then I showed them how to change their mouse cursors to moon walking dinosaurs on my last day before I left, and I was only 15 :p

Yea that's true.. But computing is completely different to ICT, merging them probably wouldn't work.. And you're also right about training, however havign the qualifications is needed in order to get the job in the first place.. And it does help, even if the programs are new.

You should burn for using that emoticon.

e: It's supposed to represent a laughing face, right? Who laughs with their mouth looking like they've had a stroke?
Somebody who's had a stroke?
But seriously, it's an 'L', which means "Laughing" .. What emoticon do you use for laughter? :P

Ahhh.. reminds me of the HTML/CSS module on my BTEC course. My mates were utterly confused. Ended up coding simple websites for about 8 people who all got distinctions in that unit :D.

Obviously I ensured mine was the best in the class, probably even the best they'd ever seen on the course :D

Hahaha I think I did that course too :) and just some advice, I don't know if it's my school's internet playing up but your website isn't loading!

New version is uploaded, got rid of the hit-counter due to popular demand and the file size on my banner has been reduced a lot for faster loading times :)

I'd keep the band names above the images rather than to the side, it'll provide a better break between the text on the left and the images, looks a little disjointed having links there imo.

I did a similar module too, made some "Surfing Website" using ripped off surfboards from other surfing sites and "modified" them in photoshop with my own made up logos :D

One of the distinction criteria was to have your website W3C compliant, no problem for me because I did my website in Notepad using CSS. Was a problem for most others who used dreamweaver though...

Well it works on an iPad, which is more than some pros websites do.

I have no idea what the 'Product' is supposed to be, I just see a lot of album covers and band details. But coding is relatively straightforward, the design bit is hard to get right.
