How did you go about getting your shot into the magazine, did you apply or did they scout it on flickr?

I actually received an email from the Deputy Editor asking if he could use the shot in a forthcoming issue; did not realise it would be this soon. By way of Flickr, I would presume. :-)
 
Stunning shot - I am going to have to try a similar thing. Not sure if thats because I like playing with lighters though !
 
Nice shot, and well done on getting in the mag. I need to try more stuff like this, I always never do it even when I think that would make a cool shot.

well done :) i think your an amazing photographer, your stuff is very inspiring! Still i ask though, what camera are you using for all your fantastic shots?

As my comment on flickr. Very cool and have always liked that image - might even try and recreate something similar to see if I can do it too :)

Thank you all, nice to share this with you guys! I actually do not have a copy of the magazine yet so the scan was provided by a friend of mine who had spotted the image as being mine. Will pick it up on Tuesday.

Martin #2; I have just upgraded to a Nikon D90. Most of the shots taken on my Flickr were taken with a Nikon D40. Coffee; thanks for the offer, but it's hard to juggle my photography with my wife/child/current photo friends, so meeting new people needs to be driven by a little more than a forum post if you get what I mean. How about you sign up to Flickr, add me as a contact, keep in touch and go from there? :-)
 
Sounds good, I shall upload some of my photos so you will see what i can produce. Don't get to excited though. It looks as though you’re not much into portraits?
