My name is Jamie, and I've decided to build a giant robot

where's he get the money (and presumably planning permission?)

He owns the mountain he's building it all on i believe, not sure what the laws are like out in America.

And as I said about his late-boss' wife, he said that they work well together:

I had excesses of things she could use... basically, strength, ingenuity, and time. She had things I needed... money, a nice place to stay, and a sort of motherly caring.

:)

I didn't think he was mental, at first, but then as I started to get maybe 30 or so videos in and he started wearing chainmail and chains around his wrist his personality starts to get quite alarming :D
Mental or not, what he does is unbelievable. How does he stay so calm, and focused on finishing something, not to mention how did he learn all this. What i'm most interested to find out, is why he lives in the woods, and does he sleep outside in the cold with no water supply?

he has no electricity but he does have the internet?

No electricity other than solar power. (part 1, ~40s).

Solar power would be plenty to get him online. It looks like he has plenty of space for solar power. Maybe he built a few solar-powered Stirling engines :)

I like his response to problems - "I built another thing"
Brilliant.

He says he has solar power - I'm assuming his house might be self sufficient in heating/electrical power, but no where near enough power to operate a sawmill and build a robot :)

That saw is awesome, but its also a death trap. Not sure I'd stand anywhere near that thing, especially as his house is miles away from help. My dads friend died using a botched together rip saw.

Aloominum

Did you get to the bit where he says he welded the saw blade back together because it was broken when he got it?

This guy has no fear, or is completely insane.

Damn it does make me feel pretty useless. In fact, a lot of people today have no such ability anymore
