My near death experience plugging a old pc in about 10 mins ago

You see, the mistake was fiddling around with this old PSU in the dark. With a light on you would have noticed the two different settings, one says 240v, the other 1.21 gigawatts.

You were lucky only to blow out most of your neighbourhoods electrics, you could have ended up back in 1955.

I did this several years ago with my old Gateway PC. I'd taken out the RAM to have a look at the information printed on it. I put it back in and the computer wouldn't boot. I then fiddled around with everything, including the voltage switch. I thought I put it back in the correct position, but I hadn't. I turned it on and it made a loud pop and sparked, and a lot of smoke came out of the PSU :(

Explosion, so big, you better run, the police will be raiding the house thinking you have been watching too much four lions.

On another note that popping noise and flash was the death of of an oap pc, now be a good chap and recycle remains.

Do you still have eyebrows?
