Took this the other day while out at Fountains Abbey, is a picture of St. Mary's Church in the deer garden.

Took it just on Automatic settings, as I haven't quite got the hang of ISO/Aperature/Shutter speeds etc.

Only editting done is default shadow/highlight settings in PS.

Make: SONY
Model: DSC-H2
Shutter Speed: 10/600 second
F Number: F/3.5
Focal Length: 6 mm
ISO Speed: 80

C&C Please?

From the perspective of a noob (me), I'd say that that looks awesome. :)

Nice composure. ;) (Composition and exposure).

It looks great to me

Theres only one thing that is bugging me about it though and its the damm prong thing at the top of the church steeple or what ever its called has been cut off :p :(

I like it, well composed. For me the sky is a bit boring and IMO could do with a bit of curves adjustment or darkening but apart from that I like it. How does it look in Mono with the contrast upped and brightness reduced?

I have no idea, I am a complete noob :)

Don't actually have a clue how to do any of those things, which is why the only adjustment is photoshops default Shadow/Highlight setting.

am glad though it wasnt just me thinking it was a good pic :)

Bugs the hell out of me too :)

I like the shot, but I think it could benefit from a tiny bit of a saturation boost and an increase in the contrast.

It's a great place to shoot there. I used to work in the tea rooms by the lake :(. It was a living hell, but the lake looked great when you could look out of the windows and it was frozen.

// EDIT // Hope you don't mind ... I had a play to show you want I meant above. I've upped the saturation and the contrast, with a bit of selective colouring on the sky. Nothing drastic. If you don't have photoshop, that could easily be done in something like The GIMP.

I hope you don't mind but I had a play in photoshop. A lot of people probably won't like this but for some reason the following does it for me. I think it inspires a bit more mood relevant to the architecture.
I don't know if you'l llike it but here it is...

EDIT: It may look a bit weird as I did it on my laptop LCD.

They all look like in game graphics tbh.

Agreed. And I hate to nit-pick but you need a bit of room between the top of the spire and the edge of the frame. It's a tiny point at the top of the spire but I feel it really cuts the picture in two without a gap.

Of the edits I like the black and white but the cropping is all wrong as it puts the spire dead centre. Now that really cuts it in to two halves with the cropped spire.

I think it's a pretty good shot but I have to agree with what Ranarama said. Needs space above the spire. You could clone out the very top tip of the spire and maybe add a bit more sky in (probably only needs about 1cm extra). Then I would crop out the half tree on the left hand side. A good B&W conversion to bring out the sky and you'd have a really decent picture :)

It looks like a videogame because you've bumped up the shadows far too much. It really needs some contrast in there to look real. I like the shot but i think the composition could be a lot better. I'd personally prefer to see from a closer point with a wider angle.

And sorry alexisonfire, but that HDR is plain horrid.
