My new car. Mazda 3 MPS

Haha yeah they went a bit button crazy on the wheel! :)

Not too bad once you figure them out. Left hand side is Bluetooth and Audio controls. Right hand side is the Sat Nav and Info Display controls, and the bottom ones are for the Cruise Control.

But the sound system is very nice. Bose 10 speaker system, with a sub in the boot where the spare wheel would be. So for me, I don't see the need to replace the Headunit or the likes. :)

@Relentless81, the Wax is this one, Finish Kare Wax

I had sort of discounted the new Mk2 MPS but after looking at these pictures, especially the interior it could be back on. How long have these ones been out as the old Mk1 was amazing value second hand, I hope these go the same way as it would be a cheap pick-up.

More importantly, anywhere you can get this one tuned, I don't think many places tuned the Mk1.

Also whats the MPG like?

V.nice car though :)

I'm not so sure these ones will go the same way as the old one. The old one probably went the way it did because it was so bad (and cost so much to tax).

It will go exactly the same way. The old one was not 'so bad' at all, and the new one is not really hugely different from the old one, styling aside.

Except the old one was terrible, expensive to tax, and pretty boring to both sit in and look at.

The new one has an LSD so will likely drive like it should, it looks fantastic and is in the right tax band.

they did it with the limited run of championship white FN2 type-r's, much better car with it than without.

It didn't take the FN2 from 'terrible' to 'good', though. Unless it's the generally accepted convention that a normal FN2 is a 'terrible' car to drive?

Thanks again. :)

MPG (book figure) is 29MPG around the doors. So will have to see how I compare to that. With regards to tuning, I see that 'Response Performance Chips' do a map for this latest MPS. Apparently, takes the power to 320bhp!

I think they have been out for a year now. Think the newer Mk2 came out in 2009.

Its just one point, but an LSD would transform that car, yes.

Maybe for somebody with 'considerable racing experience' like yourself but for most people, whilst an LSD would obviously improve things, it wouldnt be night and day enough to transform a car considered 'terrible' into one thats 'really good'.

It wasn't terrible in the first place.

For the demographic this car is appealing to I would expect most will drive the car how it's supposed to be driven, so yes I don't see how an LSD would not improve things... quite a bit?

I'm not disputing that an LSD wouldnt improve things. It quite obviously would and is a welcome addition.

It would not, in isolation, turn a rubbish car into a brilliant one.
