hmmm got me thinking now, looks real nice.

Is this the one i spied on pistonheads a while back by chance? Looks like it, what did it go for if you dont mind my asking.
Im not sure if it was.

The pricely sum of 3k:O
Im absolutely mad and I should have bought a mondeo blah blah etc, but thats the price they go for in this condition and its a buyers market right now so thats a GOOD price :o . I was looking at a civic hatch sir and it was 4k and it was in serious need of a bit of tlc.

Loving that mugen style one, do it :p
Theres two things stopping me.
1.It looks good now so im not sure. However I could always switch back and forth if i got some spare trim and kept the old bumpers. Mugen for the summer, stock for the winter.

2.That gap in the front screams "Intercooler", im only 18 so no turbo for me:(

Any chance of having a link to the pistonheads thread?

Cor, might i ask how you've got enough money to buy and insure that at 18.....insurance is killing me at 18.

Heres the ad
Work work and wooooooooooooooork.
The insurance is 3800 euro, which is actually pretty good, they wanted 4000 euro for a 1.4 focus  .Insurance is terrible in Ireland anyway, i know a guy paying about 5000euro on a Landcruiser.

Thats the one alright. Wales is a lovely place too and the roads are excellent!

JEEEEEEEEBUS, thats like £2500 for insurance! Damn i didnt think there was anywhere worse for insurance than england, but i may of been proven wrong. I'm gonna do a quote on one for me. Fully Comp i assume?

Guess your not at uni/college then :o
Fully comp and mods declared. Insurance is not set up right in Ireland at all. For instance i can not get insurance on anything over 1.6, doesnt matter if its a 2litre with 90bhp. I wont get it. Theres no insurance 'groupings' apparently.

No uni for me, maybe next year though.

wow! Im thinking of a CRX when i hopefully got 1NCB... whats insurance like on it?

amazing cars... spose to have brilliant performance and handling... anyone else on ere got one???

theres a really mint VTi near me and a Del Sol, both look sweet as!

good decision mate ;) lovely car
Insurance is above.

Brilliant handling indeed, 150bhp at around 990kg.

Del Sols come under a lot of stick from MkI and MkII CRX owners, no love lost between them. Del Slos really only share the name. And the engine I guess.

I've never been able to look at Del Sols in the same light since a guy coming to Amsterdam with us who we'd been told drove a sweet MR2 turbo turned up in said Del Sol.

He was massive too.

We fell about laughing when we were introduced :D
Another reason I didnt go for the del sol.
I am not a hairdresser!

Whats the performance like on one of these.
150bhp weighing in at roughly 990kg.
0-60 is 'apparently' in the high 7's-low 8's

De-tango side repeaters? Yes?
Detango front bumper indicators, im not so sure

Another one joins the fold ;)

Nice motor mate, the CRX VTEC's are really good cars.

If it's a B16A2 in there, shouldn't it be 157bhp? 0-60 between 7.6 and 7.9 depending on who you ask.

Enjoy it :)
As far as im aware its a B16A1, but i could be very wrong.
157 is again 'apparently' what the JDM model has as it runs on 100RON. Some say its a myth but im not sure. JDM Sirs are heavier die to PAS,Air con and an lsd.

Remember kids, power steerings for pufters.

That engine will make 160 all day, I'm yet to see a CRX VT actually make as low as 150 bhp :)

Nice car, the definite hot hatch.
Good to hear, Ill have to get her on the rolling road a.s.a.p

Looks like a mint example. You don't see many of them on the roads, nevermind ones in that sorta condition.

Enjoy!!
I know what you mean, they rust like hell. Even this one has a couple bits under the arch that im gonna get done A.S.A.P. Nothing major but i dont want it to spread.

Just took a ride after doing a little tweeking to the car, my first proper Vtec in the car and CHEESY WATSIT it was fun. The seriously hard ride though:(
Ah well who needs a spine!

The only thing I can say i dont like is the the lack of a giant unecessary intercooler in the mugen front bumper. Why did he leave the stock passenger seat in though??
As for Retro Rides, I booked marked it a few days ago, ill be joining soon:)

Mic - that's sweet and the insurance price is surprisingly good
Who's that with? FBD?

We'll have to set up an OCUK Ireland motors meet :p
Its through a brokers in Celebridge through Hibernian. My dad has all our families cars going through them so he knows them very well and got me a good deal (i guess)

Seriously considering getting one as a track toy though...........
Strip her and she might only be about 850kg maybe less. Drop in a nice plump 1.8 Integra Type R engine and your golden:D
Or theres some using the bottom end from 2.2 FRV engines:D

it must be fun to drive
Yes......yes it is.
I must say im not driving it like i stole it either. The ride is very hard so im watching the road carefully and only opening her up when its very safe. To be honest im driving it more responsibly than my mams fiesta.

Lack of power steering is killing my wrists though haha. Might do a conversion :

I thought i recognised the car and was confirmed by the piston heads thread, its a mate I know in town. He has really looked after it since he had it, and never once did I see him rag it. You've got yourself a good motor there mate :)
Are you one of the 10 people who waved at me thinging I was Brian?

They must have thought I robbed it or something :o
Lovely place Aberystwyth:)

I remember having a Pug 205 1.9GTi and m8 had one of these with about 170BHP and it was stupidly fast and the noise was truly great. Easily one of the best hot hatches from that era and still capable of rivalling todays hot hatches.
It does have an essence of pocket rocket about it all right :)
