MY PC VS MATES PS3 & XBOX 360

PC is clearly better for graphics. Then again, with a console there's no need to buy a £400 graphics card every year or two to get the best possible performance, so swings and roundabouts...
 
My friend used to do this, then he played on my PC. Now all he does is bitch about not having enough money to buy a good PC. If they see what a good PC can do and still think console is better tell them to GTFO of your house and never ever talk to them again, If they cannot see the obvious they do not deserve anyones time.
 
When I've had mates round and they've seen Skyrim, The Witcher 2, Trine 2 or whatever playing maxed out (or near as dammit) at 1920x1200 their jaw has dropped through the floor. :p

We do pay a hefty premium for the experience though, no two ways about it. A casual gamer will always be better off with a console.
 
consoles are better for the wallet- know pc games are cheaper but thats competely mute when you're bitten by the upgrade bug- shiny motherboards, massive heatsinks, watercooling, ram with huge heatsinks, gpus with more power than devs use etc the list goes on.

pc gaming would not be as popular as it is in my opinion if it was'nt backed by gamers who also happen to be hardware and fps whores :)
 
PC has the customizability, the upgradeability, the Graphics, the huge back catalogue of games and the fact that you CAN connect a controller to it should you want to, as some games (driving, tennis, arcadey) ARE better with a controller imo (not fps or rts games tho)...

However, Consoles are easier to use and can more realisticly be carted around or set up in the living room. Plus they generally just work with games without any troubleshooting needed.

My point is both have their strengths, though PCs are definately more powerful and anyone who says otherwise is clueless.
 
Lol I bet OP's friend think of PC as a boring office machine fit for only excel, word processing tasks, hence why he thinks that xbox 360 and ps3 beat it :p

He needs to be shown 'gaming PCs' i.e HAFX, Antec 1200, etc with 2-3 graphics cards, watercooling systems, 2560x1600 res monitors :D:p

please do. these threads are pointless and always(or almost always) end up in a slanging match. might be an idea to set up a specific sub forum for these type of threads, just to keep them out of everyone elses way.....or better still add a note in faq's/rules banning them completely....rant over!!
 
last time i checked pcs are waiting on consoles to catch on because lazy arse developers dont make PC games anymore, and console games still dont run at 60fps :(

consoles are gaming on the cheap but they always get their money back with the price of the games
