I think i'm getting better - here are a few of my shots (ordered by date) starting back in 2003 right up to present day. Obviously more up to date and technically capable kit helps, but I do find myself thinking a lot more about composure and lighting than I used to.....

That's the lot. I'm a bit more used to Photoshop for processing shots now which I obviously wasn't in the early days. But don't it feel great when you've processed a shot and the results look good (to yourself at least)?

I think I'm getting addicted. :D

I like 'Icy Perspective' - great texture! However, I find the processing of 'Light Relief' to be a little full on for my tastes. Good set though! :)

"Light Relief" was taken for a photo comp (themed "Urban"), normally I don't process my photos that much but I felt it needed to look more "gritty".

Nice development of pictures there!

Sub Normal and Water Wheel are my favourite shots for their power.

But when I look back at my original shots with my Minolta 7000 in 2005...oh how I cringe! I really can not believe some of those shots which I thought were great!

My standards are much higher now but I have a fair way to go before I will start to think 'yeah, I'm quite happy with my level of photography'.

It was lit with an angled lamp pointing down from above. And the background was a dark blanket that simply did not show up once I had converted to B&W. I didn't edit the background at all. :)

You've progressed really well, my favourite one is definately the one where someone is holding some ice, perfect colours and contrast, looks great in b/w. Keep up the good work :)

Who knows by 2007 I might have strayed into the murky world of D-SLR. I am beginning to find the limits of my Panasonic Lumix FZ3 now.....

I'm a big fan of B&W - and evenmore so of IR shots. Plus without strong colour capture that the D-SLRs can give - it evens up the playing field a little. :)
